About Us

A decorated table with a thank you banner and gifts.

Seventy-three North Third Street has seen a lot. Wedding receptions that became 25-year anniversaries. Retirement parties where the Crown Royal flowed at a very reasonable five dollars a pour. Junior-Senior proms for the children of couples who danced in that same ballroom decades earlier. That kind of continuity does not happen by accident.

The Newark Elks Lodge is part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a fraternal organization that has been serving American communities since 1868. The Newark chapter carries that tradition forward with a membership built on genuine connection, not just a card in your wallet. Members describe it simply: good people, a welcoming room, and a sense of belonging that is harder to find than it used to be.

The ballroom comfortably seats nearly 200 guests and has hosted everything from milestone birthdays to community fundraisers. Rated 4.6 out of 5 across dozens of reviews, this is a lodge that earns its reputation one event at a time.

What We Offer

The lodge offers two distinct ways to be part of what happens at 73 N 3rd St. Membership opens the door to a community of like-minded neighbors, lodge events, charitable programs, and the kind of regulars-at-the-bar familiarity that most people genuinely miss.

For those looking to host an event, the ballroom rental is one of the best-kept secrets in Licking County. The space seats close to 200 people, making it well-suited for wedding receptions, retirement parties, class reunions, quinceañeras, and corporate dinners. A full bar is available for events, with pricing that past guests have called more than fair.

The lodge also supports Elks National Foundation programs, youth initiatives, and veteran outreach efforts, so every membership and every event rental contributes to something larger than the evening itself.

"My cousin had his retirement party here. Nice place. The beer was a little pricey 4. But I drink Crown it was 5 so that was more than cool. Now I don't know how that relates to being a member. And I liked the bartender she was cool too. Can't remember her name but she has worked there a while. She spoke well of the guys she serves, so sounds like a good place to join."

"My husband, Greg and I had our wedding reception here on 6-27-98. Will be 25 yr anniversary coming up this year and our daughter, last child is having their Junior/Senior prom there tonight!! We loved our reception and it was very exciting to say the least!! It thundered and lightning with downtown sirens going off where our guests had to evacuate. My cousins and uncles took my grandmother in her wheelchair and carried her down to the basement. Until it was save to leave. A beautiful wedding but our reception night was definitely a night to remember for sure and we are still married!!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
